NR509 Advanced Physical Assessment
Biography
Dear Students,
Welcome to NR509. I am Dr. Victoria Lawrence Sanchez. I am originally from the state of Tennessee but now reside in the state of Georgia. I have also lived in Virginia, North Carolina, and most recent in Washington State. I moved back to Georgia in December of 2017, mainly to be available for my mother who is now aging.
I have over 30 years of nursing experience covering many of the venues that the practice offers i.e. medical, surgical, research, OB/GYN, nephrology, home health care, pediatrics, urgent care, family practice, women's health, correctional and geriatric care. I currently practice as a FNP in the primary/urgent care setting.
I literally started practicing nursing right out of high school at the age of twenty. I started my practice as an LPN and received a LPN Diploma from Chattanooga State Technical College. I received an Associate of Science in Nursing from Craven College in New Bern, NC. I received BS in Health, and a MS in Health Service Administration from the University of Saint Francis in Joliet, IL. After deciding that was not enough, I returned to back to school and received a MSN-FNP from the University of South Alabama in Mobile, AL, and to finalize my education, I obtained my DNP from Chamberlain College of Nursing in Addison, IL. I truly cannot imagine having a career in anything other than nursing, as it has always been my life and a career that I love.
On a personal level, I am married with three children, but only one remains at home…my 14-year-old daughter, Gia. When I am not busy in the classroom or serving in the role of provider, I enjoy spending time with friends and family, attending plays, musical, ballets, and other types of dance performances, and when inspired… I write poetry. I have actually had one piece published.
Please feel free to send me an email, text message, or telephone call should you ever have any questions, or if I can help in any way. In addition to being able to post a question in our classroom I can also be reached at
[email protected]. My cell number is (678) 755-0185.
I really look forward to our weeks together.
