Title Role Responsibilities
Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Tasks with planning the overall strategies and policies for the overall success of a business and making the top-level managerial choices of the company (Maynard, Onibere & Ahmad, 2018). Checks for information system vulnerabilities. Interacting with shareholders, governmental bodies, and the general public on the company's behalf directing the creation of the organization's short- and long-term strategies. Establishing and carrying out the organization's mission and vision assessing the performance of the company's other executive leaders (Maynard, Onibere & Ahmad, 2018). Ensuring that the corporation practices high levels of social responsibility everywhere it operates, determining the company's risks and making sure they are managed and reduced.
Chief Operations Officer (COO)
Tasked with managing and overseeing a company's daily managerial and operational operations. The business plans are the focus of the COO. The COO is responsible for ensuring that the business grows profitably (Whitman & Mattord, 2021). He is in charge of running the production, marketing, and sales departments of a business.
Chief Financial Officer (CFO)
Overseeing the cash flow, financial planning, and any other financial tasks or activities of the organization (Whitman & Mattord, 2021). In charge of examining a company's financial reports for accuracy.
Chief Information Officer (CIO)
Make sure the company's information technology investments are in line with its long-term business goals. In charge of overseeing and managing office automation projects like desktop architecture and support, network installation, software development, and information management.
Chief Information Security Officer (CISO)
Approving the security system's general architecture. In charge of the organization's security infrastructure and assets, such as budget, strategy, and operations (McIlwraith, 2021). CISOs advise the board of directors on security concerns, potential threats, and how to comply with regulations. Developing, implementing, and maintaining processes throughout the company (McIlwraith, 2021). Establishing the proper security and governance procedures, enabling a framework for risk-free and scalable business operations in the complex business environment.
Senior Security Manager
Managing the overall operations and strategy of their departments and acting as the brains of the organization's IT and information security teams (McIlwraith, 2021). Training organization personnel in information security awareness, establishing and overseeing security measures, oversee information security audits, whether they are carried out by company employees or outside contractors (McIlwraith, 2021). Responsible for implementing and supervising technological advancements, enhancements, and significant changes to the information security environment.
Information Security Architect
Designing, implementing, and overseeing the deployment of an organization's network and computer security. Responsible for the upkeep of the security of a whole enterprise. They must study, design, and develop resilient security procedures. They execute security evaluations, risk assessments, tests for vulnerabilities, research security standards and protocols, and authentication tests.
Information Security Engineer
Ensuring the safety of enterprises' computer systems and networks from intrusions (Li et al., 2019). Guard corporate networks from data breaches, human mistake, or cyberattacks. Ensure the organization is secure from potential security threats. They are in charge of configuring network security settings, performing penetration tests, developing and implementing adequate countermeasures to cyber threats, putting network security policies into practice, and installing and maintaining security software like firewalls or backups.
