Clearwater Primary school is a small primary school with approximately 170 students. The school has a lack of educational materials, including hardly any digital resources which reflects on Clearwat ... er Primary School low economic status. Digital technologies support children’s development by enabling their preferred futures as well as giving students opportunities to explore their own viewpoints, values and interests collaborating (Australian Curriculum, Assessment and Reporting Authority) [ACARA]. Children who limited access to digital technology could impact their development within the curriculum, this can then lead to having less opportunities in their future. Technology skills have necessary capabilities for a range of future occupations, in more recent times, the call for these capabilities has become stronger with the Australian Industry Group indicating that at least 75% of all jobs in the next 10 years will require digital technology skills (AIG, 2015). Luckily for the students the school has recently received funding which will be used to purchase resources to assist with the teaching of the technology’s curriculum.
