Particularly, among adolescents and young adults ranging from ages 12-17 and 18-22(Conn& Marks, 2014), (Kelly et al,2015). With the use of computer-assisted personal interviews (CAPI) and audio computer-assisted self-interviews (ACASI) researchers try to describe why this is. In the article, œEthnic/Racial Differences in Peer and Parent Influence on Adolescent Prescription Drug Misuse, researchers describe the differences between African American, Hispanic and whiteadolescents in the relation to parent/peer disapproval on drug use as influencing adolescence, aged from 12-years-old to 17-years-old. The authors, Conn and Marks, refer to previous studies and hypothesize that based on demographics such as ethic/racial backgrounds and peer/parental disapproval, non-Hispanic white adolescence are more likely to misuse prescription drugs.
