Written_Assignment_Chapter_3.docx Written Assignment: Chapter 3 Psy 3110, Alliant International University Written Assignment: Chapter 3 Distinguish between the persona archetype and the self-archetype The persona archetype refers to the way an individual changes according to their surroundings. It is necessary because of the different situations humans face on a daily basis. According to Jung, people use the persona archetype in order to present a different aspect of their personality. Where as the self archetype refers to the œunity, integration and harmony ot the total personality (Schultz, 2014). Basically the complete opposite of the persona, the self archetype bring all aspects of life and balances every aspect of the personality. They are both at opposite ends of a perssonaluty spectrum. Although self implies a genuine aspect of personality, the persona can also be genuine, just spread out into different parts. What are the similarities between Jung™s concept of the shadow archetype and freud™s concept of the id? Both the id and the shadow archetype are part of the unconscious. Like in Freud™s iceberg diagram, the shadow is considered the deepest part of the unconscious mind, and it is also considered the darkest. They both embody wild desires and demonstrate the most raw part of an individual™s personality. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .. . . . . .. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .. . .. .. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .. . . . .
