Learning_Differences_560_field.docx SPD 560 Learning Differences Grand Canyon University: SPD 560 Learning Differences Part 1 Instruction and Interventions My mentor teacher administered the literacy lesson that we designed together. While the lesson was being administered, I monitored the students-paying close attention to what students I believe grasped the information being present, and those that I believed would benefit from additional intervention strategies. There were two students that I noticed who had trouble focusing and could benefit from intervention strategies. Part 2 Reflection The literacy lesson was presented in the form of a teacher read aloud. The teacher read a story while the students followed along. The story was read in a group setting. Most of the students were very attentive and I could see that they were retaining the information that was being presented to them. While my mentor read the story out loud, the paraprofessional in the classroom sat with the children in the group and helped the children who need assistance. I sat in the back of the class and collected my data. The setting in the room was relaxed, and the environment was set up so that the students can focus on the story and not get distracted. The students in the classroom struggle with behavior issues, so it was extremely important to sit students in a seating arrangement that will prevent is any behavior triggers. Overall, the lesson went well. After the lesson, I collaborated with my mentor to discuss the data . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .. . . . . .. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .. . .. .. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .. . . . .
