The most important role of the project plan is to find a web based or installation software
that we can install for this online registration system. There are ten tasks that we have created to
allow for implementing a successful solution. This project will consist of myself and three other
IT analyst who will help with this initiative. All of us will have equal responsibility in a project
of this magnitude.
First, we’ll need to meet with department heads to determine key needs for the online
registration system. This will take five days to meet. Then, we’ll discuss project scope and
constraints with budgeting/cost being the main focal point. This discussion will take another 5
days. Next, we’ll choose a web based software or an installation based software to use for this
registration system. To make this decision, we’re giving ourselves sixty days. After choosing
the software, we’ll test the software for understanding purposes as well as discussing the
workload and key needs that will be needed. We are projecting this to take forty-five days. At
the same time we are testing the software, we will be uploading university class information and
student information into the software to prepare for a rehearsal test. This will be a shorter
process of testing, only taking thirty days. Once we upload this information and test the
software, we’ll administer the first trial run for the online registration system for the summer
term students. This trial should take approximately fourteen days. After this trial run, we’ll pass
out a survey for summer students to provide feedback on the new software. We’ll have the
surveys open for fifteen days. Once that period ends, we’ll collect all feedback from the surveys
and make adjustments to the software based upon the survey. To accurately go through this
process and make changes, we’re giving ourselves a deadline of forty days. Once updates and
adjustments are made, we’ll present the final software and survey feedback to the department
