THE A-1 UNIT
The A-1 Unit is a special unit/committee of a popular government agency organized to
act as an intermediary unit to the different other departments and units of said agency. It was also
organized to reduce the bureaucratic red tape system in the said agency for an efficient and
effective processing of government services and ready information to private individuals and
corporations doing business required to adhere to some government regulations and guidelines. It
serves as the unit which entertains inquiries of clients made over the phone or during their visit
in the agency.
The Organizational Set-Up
The A-1 unit is under the supervision of Mr. Cesar Regalado and Ms. Sonia Castro, who
are also the department heads of other units, namely, B-1 and C-1 units. It is composed of nine
(9) individuals of close age range as regular staffs coming from different departments/units
within the agency placed in the unit on a detailed basis and ten (10) alternate members from
other bureaus of the agency produced from the training conducted by the unit. Later, a trainee,
Sandy Amane, was formally hired for the unit as the typist-receptionist for the same unit.
Although it is directly under the supervision of the two department heads, the unit also
has its acting unit head in the person of Peter Muños. As a head, he has worked with an
organized and systematic framework for the unit. He also has established and maintained a good
rapport with the whole staff and with all the other units where A-1 is coordinating with. Although
Peter is recognized as the head of the unit, there was no established prominent hierarchy in the
unit and each one is treated equally
