Write a field research case study on an entrepreneurial buyout or buy-in of your choice. You could either
write up the story of an entrepreneur or an entrepreneurial team that conducted a buyout or buy-in in
the past 10 years or identify a target company yourself and develop a buyout or buy-in proposal.
Each case must address one or more of the following questions in detail:
· Use a timeline to describe in detail the different sources of value creation in the buyout or buy-in
you study. How would you assess the success of the buyout so far? In case you identified a buyout or
buy-in target yourself, you should describe different levers to create value in the transaction.

Many business ventures launched by the entrepreneur are faced with very many
challenges. Some never get off the ground due to conflicting advice. Young and promising
businesses tend to encounter limited finance despite working for a higher profit margin. Over
time, the entrepreneur starts to diversify their product line while seeking more professional.
However, every business encounters challenges that require a detailed decision-making process
to avoid risking the company's failure. Sometimes the challenges persist, causing a loss in
business due to reduced revenue and increased debts. Debts arise from seeking loans to try and
finance the business. Sources may include lenders such as banks and other financial institutions.
If the revenue decreases, it implies that no debts will payable hence seeking more investors. The
situation may be challenging as investors look at the profitability of the business before
investing.
