Abstract
In the late 90’s evidence based practice became an interest for many scholars and
researcher and is now used worldwide in almost every filed especially in nursing to provide best
possible care to a patient. Today Evidence based practice project devises the applied guidance of
prototypical modification in a hospital. In order to analyze the influence of prototypical
modification in a hospital, Arkansas Heart Hospital is chosen. The research shows that the
implementation of computers or rather technology has been very helpful by increasing the
productivity of the nurses as well as the number of patients that come to the hospital and making
it easy for nurses to record their data and assist them in the best possible way. The agenda behind
conducting an evidence based project is to do evaluation on the subject of “Implementation of
technology to make recording accessing of data easy for nurses”. An interesting thing that came
out of this research was that the number one reason for nurses to make errors and not accept
technology is the lack of education as well as training in the matter. However, regardless of the
education, nurses need to learn the art of recording as well as accessing the data on patient’s
bedside because in case of emergency, a new nurse does not have the time to find the files or call
the old nurse to know the details but rather just needs the required information which can only be
done by implementation of technology. There is no doubt that patient’s satisfaction is very
important for any hospital, by increasing the efficiency of nurses and decreasing bedside
reporting errors, there shall be an increase in the level of patient’s satisfaction as well.

Statistics show that with the passage of time by utilizing of evidence based practices in
the field of healthcare especially has ensured acceleration in the gradation of fulfillment of not
only clinical professionals but also the patients on receiving the effective care efficiently. The
role of nurses has also improved massively by utilizing the evidence based practice because they
provide the appropriate care at the time of need. It is fact that nurses specifically the practicing
nurses have to always be prepared for any kind of medical emergency so they need to be able to
appraise clinical research as well as the valuation of clinical guiding principle and indications.
Almost every hospital is not now striving to implement evidence based practice because of the
rate of success of implementing it in widely held healthcare clinics. However, in order to ensure
the success from a plan it is crucial to implement the plan effectively and accurately. There are
several obstacles that come in the way of not only introducing the technology but also giving
education to the nurses on how to use the technology to get the best possible results. The selected
project is to solve the issue of recording as well as accessing the data of patients by
implementing latest technology in the hospitals to make thing easier for the nurse. The solution
to the discussed problem has been contrived and developed after carefully analyzing the previous
researches as well as the current researches because it is the most important part of evidence
based practice and it ensures success.

The organizational culture is basically the environment in the hospital. It is the way the
staff responds to a change, the values shared by them. The code of conduct followed. An
organizational culture plays a very important role in any field to achieve the set goals within the
set time frame. As mentioned before for this particular project, the chosen hospital is the award
winning, Arkansas Heart Hospital as it is well known for the excellent heart treatments expertise
it provides to the patients (Anderson, N. B. 2006). Hence, there is modern technology
everywhere and the nurses are used to the introduction of new technologies. It has been seen that
Arkansas Heart Hospital has a very compassionate environment that supports and agrees in
training the nurses as well as educating them of the technology to lower the probability of errors
in bedside reporting, in order to provide maximum satisfaction to the patient. Studies show that
there is team work required in the hospital for it to be a success; the new nurse needs to be as
aware of the situation as the old nurse so an emergency situation can be easily dealt with. This is
the main reason why most of the healthcare facilities in the world have adopted evidence based
practice and they ensure the nurses get the required training in recording the data correctly,
accessing it quickly and bedside reporting without any errors to meet the demands and needs of a
