It is important that nurse educators be creative, fair, and have great communication skills. No student learns in the same way. It is important that an educator be able to identify the students needs and then create and enact a plan that will help that student be successful. Communication skills play a big role in this and in cultivating a trusting relationship that promotes a positive learning environment. 2. Describe your role, as an academic nursing educator, in facilitating student learning in meeting learning outcomes? All faculty collaborate to design an inclusive curriculum for the pre-licensure nursing program. My role is to ensure that course content and supplementary clinical instruction supports learning outcomes outline by the Quality and Safety Education for Nurses (QSEN) competencies. The main goal of the program is to provide nursing students with the information they need to pass their board exam and be knowledgeable professional nurses. The learning outcomes for my specific course align with the Bachelor degree in Nursing (BSN) program learning outcomes for Tarleton State University. 3.
