United States President’s Powers
President Barack Obama stated concerning immigration on international students.
International students are those who have legally got access via scholarships and normal
admissions to pursue their education. Such students stay in the United States until they complete
their studies. Some may opt to continue staying in the country after completing their education as
they seek job opportunities. Obama’s statement was marred with controversies as he previously
claimed that his constitutional powers restricted him from issuing such a mandate. Politicians
and other concerned organizations questioned the statement to the point that the Supreme Court.
In his statement, President Obama opted to expand Deferred Action for Childhood
Arrivals (DACA) and implement Deferred Action for Parents of Americans (DAPA). Although
the Center commended the section for Popular Democracy, the Supreme Court opted t look into
it and assess the president's powers for issuing such a statement. Hannity stated that the president
was out of his constitutional rights for making such a statement. If such an action was to be
taken, it had to be reviewed by both houses as it was a matter of national security.
The Senate and Congress are tasked with making such decisions and ensuring that the
citizens are in safe hands. Additionally, if such a statement is to be effected, those concerned
must implement by-laws that will help uphold the stated clause. As such, the action by the
president was considered illegal as he was out of his constitutional rights to do so. Currently, theSurname 2
actions can be supported by the clauses in the Homeland Security Department, which are
concerned with how people leave and enter the country.
